Living in a godless culture

A word for those living in a godless culture: "Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness." - Psalm 37:3

The 1st cent Church overcame through the disciples' love for one another, their kind service to their enemies, and their willingness to die.

Political militancy will not change the course of a nation, but a true proclamation and faithful demonstration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

The greatest demonstration of the power of the Gospel is a transformed life that is unashamed of Christ and tenaciously loving its enemies.

Post Election

Tweets from

Paul Washer...

The most Christ-like man I ever knew went to heaven yesterday - Bob Jennings. A great preacher whose his life was greater than his sermons.

The death of a single child of God is more significant to heaven than all the elections of an ungodly nation.

My heart is troubled by the misdirected hope of Christians in America: "Stop regarding man whose breath of life is in his nostrils." Is.2:22

Jer. 17:5 - Thus says the LORD, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind & makes flesh his strength & whose heart turns away from the LORD."

The judgment of God against this nation will not be turned by a more conservative President, but by the repentance of its people.

The church's task for the next 4 yrs is the same as the last 2000 yrs -

Preach the Gospel to every creature and live it out before them.

Remember Who Sits Over the White House

from Nov 06, 2012 Category: Articles

As we look at the newspapers every day and watch our televisions, we see and hear all sorts of concern about the presidential election in the United States. We are electing a president, a vice president, senators, and congressmen.

In a proximate sense, it’s very important who sits in the White House.

But ultimately, the most important matter is not who sits in the White House but who sits over the White House.

The one who sits over the White House is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, and our Savior.

Sproul; A Season of Mourning

Shannon Macfarlane Sproul

RC Sproul Jr. is a homeschooling father of 8.  He recently lost his wonderful wife, Denise, to cancer.

Keith heard him speak years ago.  In the course of the session, RC talked about his family.

He mentioned a particular child of theirs... and the privilege of caring daily for this child with special needs...

Of loving her....and the heartache of her not being able to ‘talk’ to them....

But having that hope... and knowing... that one day, she WILL be able to talk to them, and express her heart.....when they are all in the presence of the Lord.

Take a moment to read this short post.  You can click here.

Then, hug your children (and your spouse!)...

show them grace...

worship the Lord....

and pray for this precious family.

Encouragement of the Day

Our bountiful plum tree

"Christian sacrifice isn’t ever
giving to God
what He wouldn’t have
without us.

Christian sacrifice is
receiving from God
what we’d never have
without Him."
