Last minute Garden attempt

We are so behind in getting the garden going this year!  I think because of having a baby in March, I took the pressure off of myself and was okay with not doing a garden this year.  Then, I got the bee in my bonnet, and had to make something happen.

Our poor garden was truly abandoned after last season.  We did no post season care.  We had a big mess to clean up, but it was so good to get everybody out there ‘working hard!’

It took a few days to clean it up, and even longer to get everything planted.

Moments in our Day

Since I have started taking pictures with my phone, the quality of the photos has gone downhill.

The tradeoff, though, is that I take a lot more pictures... and can capture a lot more moments...usually one-handed ...while nursing the baby or changing a diaper : )

These are some random moments of our day.....

Walk For Life

Kaleo with Dad and sibs

Kaleo is very passionate about pro-life issues.  Although she registered late for the local Walk for Life, she was able to raise almost $400 in less than 2 weeks for our local Real Options.

Dear Friends and Family,

Our family will be walking for Real Options (crisis pregnancy center) fundraising event, The Walk for Life on Saturday 4/28/12. Real Options helps young men and women who find themselves pregnant and are in need of help. They offer life giving options and support for those who feel like abortion is the only answer. I believe women need to know their options, ALL of them. Will you please sponsor us in this lifegiving event! If you would like to support this event please see the webpage below. Thank you for your help. Your money is going to help save an innocent baby's life!

For the sanctity of all human life,

Kaleo Andry

Happy Birthday Kapena!

Kapena has come such a long way. He has been through so much in his short six years of life.

3 months

4 months - with Grampa

5 months - with Tutu

6 months - with Koa

9 months
1 year - with Mom

1 year - with Dad

3 years - with brothers

3 years

5 year - with Dad

5 year - with brothers

When Keith and I look back on the early days of when Kapena came into our lives...and all that went on as he remained in the foster care system...and all that he endured emotionally...and all that we endured emotionally...there were many dark days filled with confusion.

We look back at how we struggled to trust the Lord with the reality of our situation...and the outcome that we couldn’t control...

And we see now how the Lord carried us all through it...and how we survived...and how much we’ve all grown...and we see how faithful the Lord is.

It took four long and difficult years to finalize his adoption.

We look at this precious little boy today, and we are amazed.

Kapenaikapono

His name means Righteous Captain

We are humbled and grateful that the Lord placed him in our home, and in our hearts. Our hearts burst with hope and joy knowing that the Lord has a future and a hope for this quirky, talented, precious little boy.

Happy 6th Birthday Kapena!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.

Day After Christmas 2011

The day after Christmas we were finally able to come together as a family at my brother’s house.  This would be the last time we would all  gather with Tutu, my grandmother.  Four generations.....
