Surgery this morning

8 am

We just got the word that they are taking my dad into surgery in 15 minutes.  My mom is racing down to the hospital.
If the small intestine looks good, they will do their procedure.  If it does not look good, there is nothing else they can do.

Yesterday the surgeon said that he cannot believe that my dad has continued to live these last few days.  He said that survival from all of this is unprecedented...

He said ‘obviously, Mr. Wedemeyer is an unprecedented man.’

Yes, and my dad has committed his life to - and is a child of - an unprecedented God.

Psalm 34: 1-7
Taste and See That the LORD Is Good

I will bless the LORD at all times;
   his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the LORD;
   let the humble hear and be glad.
 magnify the LORD with me,
   and let us exalt his name together!

 I sought the LORD, and he answered me
   and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
   and their faces shall never be ashamed.
 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him
   and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps
   around those who fear him, and delivers them.
