Owl Pellets

I don’t remember doing this in school, but I know others who do.  Owl pellets...first thing we clarified was which end of the owl these pellets came out of.  It made some feel much better that the owls regurgitated these up and spit them out.  I’m not sure why.

We had all ages examining the pellets.  It was so fun to see how fascinated some of the littlest ones were.  The kids found all kinds of bones – including tiny jaws and skulls.

Our friend, Karen, not only brought the pellets – she also brought great posters to help in identifying the findings - and had lap books for the kids to fill out as they recorded their findings.
